Prices

Merchant bar prices are not increasing in March as expected but there is still pressure to move them forward. Hollow sections will increase by about £50/t over the next few months. Heavy sections will also move forward by £50/t from 1st March and there could be another increase in the summer. All products will increase in price in the short term as buyers return to the market to replenish stocks.

Supply

In balance but low stock levels will see some individual sizes in short supply..

Demand
February demand has been "back to normal" from the depths of winter in January. Overall still weak but a l least it is stable.

Credit

Still very tight and cause for concern.

Tomrods
