Prices
BEWARE.. Merchant bar prices were increased in mid April by £85/t and we cannot rule out another increase. Heavy sections will increase by £80/t on 1st June and hollow sections will reflect increases in hot rolled coil prices. The UK price of steel is still lower than in mainland Europe and we expect prices to remain high and maybe increase over the next few months. Keep phoning us to establish the up to the moment pricing levels.
Supply
Mills are still busy and there could be shortages of some popular sizes.
Demand
Picking up slightly but still a long way to go to get back to 2008 levels.
Credit
Still very tight and will remain so for another 6 months at least.
Tomrods
We are now very busy planning our move to Thirsk later in the year and we anticipate Aug/Sept as the date of the move - we will keep you informed. If anyone wants any warehousing in Manse Lane please let us know. We will also have a considerable amount of surplus plant and equipment for sale, please contact Keith McKee for details.
