Mr Cool Cash Takes the Money!

Tomrods was only too pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor the 14.55 Tomrods Steel Handicap at our recent customer invitation day at Thirsk Racecourse on Friday 31st July 2015. Mr Cool Cash a beautiful three year old bay gelding trained by Richard Guest at his yard in nearby Ingmanthorpe Stables, Wetherby and ridden by Neil Farley won the one mile race in a recorded time of 1m 40.75s.
The race meeting itself proved to be great fun as anticipated for Tomrods’ colleagues and customers alike. Judging by the loud whoops and hollers audible from the Tomrods private box there were a few particularly lucky guests/punters on the day. Evidentially such Tomrods punters chose to ignore the advice of many good handicappers ie don’t bet the “Exotics” such as Exactas, Trifectas, Superfectas, Pick 4’s, Pick 6’s, etc. That said the most popular and successful betting type in practice on the day appeared to be coming from a Swinger! Just in case you are wondering here the purpose of the swinger bet is to select two horses in a single race to finish in the first THREE places in ANY ORDER!
