THE GREAT KNARESBOROUGH BED RACE 11th JUNE 2016
Tomrods is delighted to be competing once again in The Great Knaresborough Bed Race. Our brave running team of Jon Jacobs, Adam Barton, Daniel Groves, George Thompson, Tom McDougall, Tom Cresswell and Sally Dixon will push our bed around the 2.4 mile course, which ends with a swim across the very cold waters of the River Nidd.
We will be raising money for Open Arms Malawi. The Open Arms Malawi charity provides medical attention, shelter, food and love to Malawi’s orphaned and abandoned children (there are over 1,000,000 in Malawi) and work to ensure that the children can and will grow up in a secure and loving home. You can get more information by looking at their website www.openarmsmalawi.org or by asking my son George Thompson who went there last year and helped to build a new schoolroom.
We realise that you will have many requests for contributions to good causes but we hope that you will be able to find a bit more to help with this excellent and worthy charity. You can contribute by going online to https://www.justgiving.com/Tomrods or by sending a cheque to Tomrods Ltd, endorsed Open Arms Malawi.
Thank you for reading this and we would be delighted if you would join us on the day, our bed will be on show, decorated with a wild west cowboy theme and will be at the Castle Yard in Knaresborough from 12.30pm on the 11th June. Bring the family it is a great day out for everyone.
And thanking you once again from all of us too!
