Thirsk move completed on time
The transfer of all our heavy section stocks from our Marston Moor warehouse to Hambleton Steelworks in Thirsk has been completed on time. The transfer of over 2500 tonnes of steel, 3 saws, outside gantries and 4 overhead cranes within an 8 week period, whilst carrying on normal business dispatches, is a great credit to Mark and Paul Cowgill and their warehouse staff. New Faces
We have pleasure welcoming Darren Craven as our new Area Sales Manager and Zoë Pearson as our new Sales Trainee. Darren has been working in the steel industry for over 12 years, mainly on the fabrication side, and in consequence he has a depth of knowledge about general engineering. Darren will be visiting all our customers over the next few months and he looks forward to meeting you all. Zoë has just started her career in Sales and will be training, initially, to become an internal sales contact.

Prices
Heavy Section prices will increase over the next few months to reflect the £20/t increase imposed by Corus on the 1st October 2005. Hollow Section prices are still relatively stable whilst Merchant Bar prices have been increased to mirror scrap prices over the last 3 months by £45/t. All product prices could be subject to movements in either directions, rumours and economic indicators are confused and although the underlining demand is set to improve in 2006, price levels may work independently.

Future Developments
Our new brochure will be back from the printers next week and this will be followed by the updating of our web site. You will be able to find out more about price movements and other news items and each employee will be profiled so you can ‘see’ who you are speaking to. We continue to develop so we can make it easier for you our customer to buy your steel needs.
